Behemoth Cheeseburger Challenge

Erik and some friends from work decided it would be a good idea to tr a Behemoth eating challenge.  There were 4 guys who attempted to eat a 3 pound cheeseburger and a pound of french fries.  Unfortunately, none of the guys finished the challenge, but Erik made it the farthest.  Here are some pictures from the day

21 week check up

I had another ultrasound yesterday.  When I had my other one at the beginning of the month, there were some parts of her body that the technician couldn't see, so we had to try again.  We are still having a girl.  :)  (Thank goodness because we've already rearranged Kayleigh's room to add the crib for her sister!)  The technician also gave the baby a 100% on her anatomy test.  She was moving a lot during the ultrasound, and it was so neat to get to see her movements AND feel them at the same time!  Although she was so active, her heartbeat was "only" 142 bpm.  The technician estimated her due date as December 5th.  Her official due date is the 6th of December, so she's growing at a good pace.  I just hope she'll hold on so we can have our c-section on November 30th!
We are so happy to be having another healthy baby!

21 Weeks

I am 21 weeks now, and looked nice last night, so I had Erik get a belly pic.  I was feeling bigger thank this picture shows!  I was surprised that my belly wasn't sticking out farther.  I guess I still have time for it to grow.  :)
I can't believe there are just over 4 months until we get to meet our little girl!

Activity pool

Our city has a public pool, including a fun activity pool for the kids. I hadn't taken the kids this summer until Jenna called me earlier this week to tell me they had time for kids 5 and under. It wasn't very crowded, and the kids had a great time. I was a little nervous with 2 kids and them getting away from me in the water, but they did great. I just had to make sure to keep my eye on the two of them. We went twice this week with plans to go again soon.

Tickled pink

We are so excited to announce that we are having another girl!  Kayleigh is excited, but Brian is a little disappointed.  He says that he's excited to have a baby, but he also wants a boy.  I keep saying he'll be glad he doesn't have to share a room.  It would be nice for him to have a little brother since they would be closer in age, but we are just happy that the baby is healthy.
We had a great ultrasound.  She was covering her face, so we didn't get a great look at it.  That means that when I go for my next appointment I'll get another ultrasound.  The technician needs to see her face and have another look at her heart.  We could see all of the chambers of her heart, and it was beating at a smooth 140 beats per minute, but since I am not quite 18 weeks, the technician wants to see it again.  I think she can get a better picture of it if it's a little bigger.  Everything else looks healthy.  We saw 10 fingers and 10 toes.
I'll post an ultrasound picture after my next appointment.  Because of the baby's position, we didn't get any good profile pictures.  Hopefully she'll be more cooperative next time!

Oink! Oink!

Before we headed to Jacksonville on Wednesday, we went to see our friends' pigs. One of the sows just had piglets, so we wanted to see them. There were some who loved to get out of their pen, and were there to greet us when we got there. They were all so excited to eat the food we brought for them and were making a lot of noise to make sure we knew they were hungry!

Kayleigh's graduation

Sheesh!  We were so busy last week, and I almost forgot about graduation!  Graduation started at 12:45, so we decided to have a quick family breakfast with all of the grandparents before Kayleigh went to school one last time.  She was so excited to get to stay and eat lunch with her friends.  Graduation was so good, with the kids singing lots of songs.  After a slideshow, the kids walked across the stage to get their diplomas.
It was sad to know that Kayleigh won't be going to her school anymore.  We have loved her teachers and staff there, and are excited for Brian to get to go in a couple of years.  They have prepared her well for kindergarten, and we know she will succeed in elementary school.

Camping

My dad wanted to go camping with us while they were here.  I will say that I was a little nervous about how hot it was going to be at the campground, but the weather was BEAUTIFUL, with a nice breeze most of the day.  We got there on Friday in time for lunch.  After lunch, we went to the dock to try out the new fishing poles and check out the river.  The kids practiced casting their lines before we switched Kayleigh over to a hook and bait.  Brian never switched to a hook, but he was content to fish with what he had.
We did have to take a break from fishing and explore the area.  We drove around the Econfina State Park, which meant a lot of off road action.  From one place we could see the Gulf.
When we got back from our explorations, we took the kids back to do some real fishing.  The kids used the same bait I used at their age--hot dogs!!  Erik thought we were crazy, but Kayleigh caught a fish after just her second or third time casting her line!  Erik caught 3 fish...or was it one fish that he caught 3 times???  We're not sure.  I caught my usual amount--zero.  It was okay.  We had fun.
For dinner we grilled some hotdogs and ate potato salad and fruit.  Mom and I made sure to have all of the ingredients for s'mores!  YUM!  The rain started coming just minutes after dessert, so we went up to the porch to talk and let the kids entertain us before bed time.  Kayleigh slept with my parents in their room, and Brian stayed with us.  Mom said Kayleigh didn't last too long before falling asleep.  The same could be said about Brian.

Our "hotel" for the night!

Unfortunately, when Kayleigh woke up Saturday morning, she had a bad ear ache.  We had to cut our trip short so she could get back home and go to the doctor.  She got medicine and is feeling MUCH better.

Kayleigh's birthday

Oh my gosh!  I am the mother of a 5 year old!!  We are so excited about out little girl growing up.  My parents were here to help celebrate her birthday, but first, she had to go to school.  Keeping with the ladybug theme, I made some ladybug cookies that Kayleigh took to her school to share with her friends.  I have to say, the cookies turned out WAY better than her cake!  After school and a nap, we went to Piggy's for dinner.  Kayleigh and Brian both like that restaurant, and my mom said she wanted to go there because she likes the name.  The food is delicious, and we all enjoyed what we ordered.

Kayleigh's birthday party

We had Kayleigh's birthday party on Memorial Day. Thankfully, I worked on her cake the day before, because the icing made the flavor inedible! I still had time to make cupcakes for everyone to enjoy. We still used the cake for decoration and singing, but only Ginger enjoyed it!

Whew!

We have been busy already this weekend!  Actually, Kayleigh has been busy all week at school making little treats for me for Mother's Day, including a bracelet wrapped in homemade wrapping paper and a cake.  She decorated the cake Friday morning and we wasted  no time getting into it Friday night!

We went to Chuck E Cheese's this morning to celebrate Brian filling up his accident treat chart.  We have been working on it for awhile now as he's practicing going potty in the big boy potty.  Grammy and our friend Emma joined us in the festivities.  We went through almost all of our tokens, but had a blast doing it, so it was worth it!

Our Chick-Fil-A had a Mother-Son Date "Knight" tonight, and we went with Jenna and Jack.  They had one part sectioned off for us, and it was so nice!  The boys got a balloon sword and were knighted by the cow.  Brian did NOT participate in that ceremony!  He had said on the way there that he wanted the cow to stay in the barn and not come out.  He was so brave when the cow was around, though.  At one point he touched the cow while the cow's back was turned.  :)  The boys also each got a rose to give to Mom.  We had a great time and were so thankful that Chick-Fil-A would go through the trouble to make a special night for us.

Big Boy Bed and Face Painting

Last weekend, we decided Brian was ready to switch his crib to a big boy bed.  I was a little nervous about how he would do, but he's a champ!  He wasn't so sure about it at first, but he loves it now.  He stays in his bed until it's time to wake up and hasn't fallen out of it yet.  Last night he must have been extra tired because he told me he wanted to go to bed and climbed off my lap and climbed into bed.  I can't believe what a big boy he has become!

Hiding
Yesterday, Kayleigh and I ran the Tails & Trails 1 mile again.  This is the second year we've been official runners.  We ran it in just under 16 minutes.  After the race there were lots of dogs and cats to see.  (No, we didn't get one.  We have plenty, thank you!)  The kids also had a SnoCone and some cotton candy.  Kayleigh jumped in the bounce house and they had their faces painted right before we left.  Kayleigh didn't know what she wanted to the lady just picked for her.  Brian wanted to be a tiger and he was super cute!
